Bulk Outgoing Links & Broken Links Checker

Outgoing links shape both user experience and how search engines judge a page: a fat footer pointing at dead domains drains crawl budget and trust, a nofollow sprinkled over an entire article blocks the flow the author…

intended, and a single 404 in the middle of a tutorial is where readers give up. This bulk checker loads every URL in your list, counts all links on the page, splits them into external and internal, and reports how many carry the nofollow attribute. It then goes further and verifies the actual availability of links — up to your chosen number per page, external ones first — marking 404 and 500 responses, dead domains and refused connections as broken, with the full list available in the row details. Use it after a redesign to catch links that died with the old URL structure, to audit old posts before refreshing them, or to check what a guest-post draft really links to. The report exports to CSV, ready to become a fix list.

How it works

  1. Paste up to 100 items, one per line. Duplicates are removed automatically.
  2. URLs without a scheme are checked over https://.
  3. The check runs in the background; the results page shows live progress.
  4. Filter the report by status code and export it to CSV.

Rate limit: 5 jobs per hour from one IP address. Results are stored for 7 days.

FAQ

Why are only the first N links verified?

Verifying every link on every page of a large list would hammer both the checked sites and this service. The counter limit (10/25/50/100 in the form) keeps the check useful and fair; external links are verified first because they break most often, internal ones fill the rest of the budget.

What counts as a broken link?

A link is reported broken when its final response is a 4xx or 5xx status, or when the request fails before a response — dead domain, refused connection, TLS error. Redirects are followed first, so a link that lands on a 200 after a hop is fine.

How are external and internal links split?

By host: a link whose host equals the host of the checked page (after redirects, if any) is internal; everything else, including subdomains, is external.

Do nofollow links get checked too?

Yes — a broken link is broken for users regardless of rel attributes. The counters show dofollow and nofollow totals separately, and the broken list ignores the attribute.

Does it find links inside scripts or JSON?

No, only real <a href> anchors in the served HTML — the links visitors can actually click. URLs embedded in JavaScript payloads or structured data are invisible to this check, the same way they are invisible to a user without a script.
