Bulk Open Graph & Twitter Cards Checker

When somebody shares a link in a messenger or posts it to a social network, the preview card is built from Open Graph tags — not from the page title.

More about this tool

A missing og:image turns an attractive article into a bare grey link, a wrong og:description misrepresents it, and nobody notices until the share is already out. This bulk checker downloads every URL in your list and reports the full social preview setup: og:title, og:description and og:image shown up front, og:url, og:type and og:site_name in the details, the twitter:card type, the total count of OG tags, and a readiness verdict that turns red when any of the three key tags is missing. It is the fastest way to audit a whole site section after a template change, to check freshly published pages before sharing them in newsletters, and to catch pages where the CMS still renders default tags. Rows are highlighted where the preview would break, and the whole report exports to CSV.

How it works

  1. Paste up to 100 items, one per line. Duplicates are removed automatically.
  2. URLs without a scheme are checked over https://.
  3. The check runs in the background; the results page shows live progress.
  4. Filter the report by status code and export it to CSV.

Rate limit: 5 jobs per hour from one IP address. Results are stored for 7 days.

FAQ

What makes a preview "ready"?

The page must have the three tags that drive virtually every preview: og:title, og:description and og:image. Everything else improves specific platforms but is safe to omit; without these three the card degrades visibly in most networks and messengers.

Do I still need Twitter Cards tags?

X (Twitter) reads Open Graph as a fallback, so og:title and og:image usually work there too. twitter:card controls the card format (summary versus summary_large_image) and is worth setting when you want the large image — the report shows which type the page declares.

Why is og:image empty on a page with images?

og:image must be an explicit meta tag pointing at an image URL; a picture inside the article body does not count. Networks do not guess — without the tag they either show no image or scrape something arbitrary.

Are relative og:image URLs ok?

Most platforms require an absolute URL including the scheme and host. The report shows the tag value exactly as the page serves it, so a relative path is easy to spot in the list.

Does the checker render JavaScript?

No — tags injected by client-side scripts after load are invisible to it, the same way they are invisible to simple preview scrapers. If your tags appear only after rendering, social platforms may miss them too; better render OG tags server-side.
