Bulk Meta Tags Checker (Title, Description, H1)
Titles and descriptions are the first thing both search engines and people read about a page, and they are also the easiest thing to get wrong at scale: an empty title left by a template, a description duplicated across…
More about this tool
a whole category, two H1 headings on a hand-edited page. This bulk checker downloads every URL in your list and reports the actual Title, meta description and H1 it serves, the count of every heading level H2 through H6, and the lengths of the title and description with out-of-range values flagged — too short to describe the page, or too long to display fully in the snippet. It also detects duplicate titles and duplicate descriptions within the submitted list, which is the fastest way to find template bugs across a section: paste every page of a category and see which ones share the same text. The report builds live as pages are fetched, warnings are highlighted, and everything exports to CSV for a spreadsheet or a ticket to the developer.
How it works
- Paste up to 100 items, one per line. Duplicates are removed automatically.
- URLs without a scheme are checked over https://.
- The check runs in the background; the results page shows live progress.
- Filter the report by status code and export it to CSV.
Rate limit: 5 jobs per hour from one IP address. Results are stored for 7 days.
FAQ
What length is considered good?
The report flags titles outside 30–65 characters and descriptions outside 70–165 characters. These are practical display limits, not laws: a few characters over is usually fine, while an empty title or a 300-character description is a real problem.
How does duplicate detection work?
After all pages are fetched, the tool compares titles (and separately descriptions) across the entire submitted list — exact match after whitespace normalization. If two or more pages share the same title, each of them gets the duplicate flag.
Is more than one H1 always bad?
HTML allows multiple H1 elements and search engines tolerate them, but in practice one H1 per page keeps the structure clean and the outline predictable. The report counts them so you can decide: a second H1 from a widget is worth removing, a semantic exception may be fine.
Does it check the rendered DOM?
No — it reads the initial HTML exactly as a crawler receives it. If your titles are injected by JavaScript after load, this tool shows the pre-script state, which is what search engines see first. That difference is itself useful to know.
Why is the description empty?
The page really serves no meta description tag, or serves it with an empty content attribute. Search engines will then generate a snippet from page text — sometimes fine, but you lose control of what users see in results.
