Bulk Cache Headers Checker (Cache-Control)
Caching headers are the cheapest performance feature a site can ship: two lines of web-server configuration and returning visitors load in a fraction of the time, while CDNs and proxies start doing the heavy lifting for…

you. This bulk checker inspects the caching configuration of every URL in your list: whether Cache-Control is sent at all, what TTL it declares (s-maxage and max-age, falling back to Expires), whether response validators are in place (ETag, Last-Modified — what makes revalidation cheap 304s instead of full downloads), and whether the page relies on heuristic caching — the "10% of the document age" guess browsers make when a server says nothing at all. The verdict respects intent: no-store on personalized HTML is a legitimate choice and is reported as such, while a missing Cache-Control on a static asset, a TTL below your own threshold or an absent validator come back with a concrete recommendation. Full header values live in the row details, and the CSV export turns the report into a server-config to-do list.
How it works
- Paste up to 100 items, one per line. Duplicates are removed automatically.
- URLs without a scheme are checked over https://.
- The check runs in the background; the results page shows live progress.
- Filter the report by status code and export it to CSV.
Rate limit: 5 jobs per hour from one IP address. Results are stored for 7 days.
Checking many domains at once?

FAQ
What TTL should my pages have?
It depends on the content, which is why the threshold is a form setting. Practical anchors: immutable build assets (hashed filenames) — a year (max-age=31536000, immutable); images and media — days to months; regularly updated HTML — minutes (or no-cache with validators, so browsers revalidate cheaply); personalized or paid pages — no-store. The checker highlights anything below the threshold you set (300 seconds by default).
no-cache does not mean "do not cache"?
Correct — one of the most misleading names in HTTP. no-cache allows storing but requires revalidation with the origin (ETag/Last-Modified make that a 304, nearly free). no-store is the one that forbids storing anywhere. The checker reports which of the two the server actually sends, and the verdict treats them differently: no-cache with validators is a solid pattern for fresh HTML.
What is heuristic caching?
When a response has no freshness directives (no Cache-Control max-age, no Expires) but does have Last-Modified, browsers and proxies estimate freshness as roughly 10% of the time since the document was modified — a cache of a page changed a year ago "lives" about a month and a half. It works, but nobody controls it: set an explicit Cache-Control instead, and the report marks the heuristic-only state for exactly that reason.
Why HEAD requests?
Caching headers live in the response headers, so a HEAD request is enough — no page body is downloaded, which keeps bulk checks light. A few servers answer HEAD with 405; their headers are still read from that response, and the status itself is shown in the report so you can interpret it.
